Park

I finally understand why we are living in Texas.  It is January.  Yesterday we barbecued hamburgers for lunch and today we went to the park, no jackets necessary.

15 Months

How can you not love this face???
This sweet boy is now 15 months!  I can't believe it!  He had a well check on Tuesday so I figured now was a good time for an update on the blog.  :)

At 15 months:
-22 lbs (25th percentile)
-30 inches (25th percentile)
-12 month clothes (a few 6-9 month onesies in some brands that run bigger)
-Blows kisses
-Waves (all the time!)
-Can point to his nose (still working on other body parts)
-Loves music, points to the speakers when he wants the music turned on
-Doesn't really eat veggies except zucchini
-Eats whatever I make for dinner which is AWESOME!!!  He even eats the leftovers for lunch the next day!
-Loves to be chased
-Smiles and laughs all the time (people still always comment on how happy and laid back he seems)
-Walking and running all over the place
-He is NONSTOP!
-Is happy to play by himself and do his own thing, makes my life easy
-Knows that shaking his head means no (makes life much easier that he has a few ways to communicate)
-Points at EVERYTHING!!  Sometimes helpful in knowing what he wants and sometimes just random
-Loves to play with (AKA torture) his puppy, luckily she loves him back
-Has had three haircuts
-Working on his 5th and 6th tooth (both molars on the top...random)
-Loves bathtime
-HATES getting his diaper changed

We love this boy so much, he just gets more fun as time goes on. We think he is the funniest and sweetest boy on the planet.  Don't know what we did before he was around!

Sledding

By Friday afternoon we were finally able to get everybody healthy (my mom was sick on Christmas, Richard was sick Wednesday and Friday morning) enough to go out and have some fan for the last couple days of our vacation.  Luckily, my dad had the weekend off so it was fantastic!  After Soren's nap we took him sledding.  Then we went to Los Hermanos for dinner before hitting up the Spanish Fork Festival of Lights.

Not thrilled at being in the snow

Saturday, my mom watched Soren while me, Richard, Jordan and dad went to the BYU vs Virginia Tech basketball game at Energy Solutions Arena.  It was a blast and BYU (aka Tyler Haws) kicked butt!  I had a blast, but I have a hard time being away from my little boy for long periods (yes, 6 hours is long to me) of time, so I was happy to get back to him.  But he was a champ for grandma, he likes her a lot!

Christmas

Who needs presents when you have all this garbage???

Best present EVER!!!  Now I can stop envying it online!  :)
After enjoying a relaxing morning with my family we got to skype with my brother, Justin.  He is serving a mission for our church in Brazil.  We get emails from him once a week, but we only get to skype (or phone call) with him twice a year (Mother's Day and Christmas).  He has been gone since August 2012 and will return August 2014.  It was soooo much fun to talk to him.  He looked so happy and sounded wonderful.  He is having so many great experiences and meeting so many wonderful people.

We sure missed having him there for Christmas, but we wouldn't want him anywhere else in the world than where he is right now.  Here's to Christmas 2014 (although then my other brother will be gone..).  It's going to be a while until we are all together again.  But I am so grateful for the commitment and sacrifices that Justin is making to serve the people of Brazil!

After talking to Justin we went to Grandma Christensen's house for her Christmas dinner, it was really fun to see all the cousins, aunts and uncles!

Technology

Soren became a bit possessive of Grandma's iPad.  Luckily, she was nice enough to let him play with it...A LOT!

Family Party

Sunday afternoon we had a Christmas family party with my aunt and her family.  It is always a blast and I am glad that we got to be there this year!

Sick

This is how we spent the first couple days of vacation.  We flew into Utah late Friday night and by Saturday afternoon Soren had a fever.  He woke up at 7 and went down for a nap at 9:30 (he usually doesn't nap until noon).  At first we just thought he was completely exhausted from the day of traveling, but then he got a fever.  He spent most of the day sleeping, I think he was awake for total of about 3 or 4 hours.

He didn't have a fever when he woke up Sunday morning so off to church we went, but when he woke up from his nap he had a fever again.

Monday no fever, but he threw up his breakfast and had a cough so we decided to take him to the doctor just to be safe.  Everything looked good.  The doctor just told us to keep him on ibuprofen for a day or two and gave us some cough syrup.

He was back to his happy (non-medicated) self by Wednesday.

Snow

Soren got LOTS of snow while we were in Utah.  It snowed every day we were there (which is unusual, usually in Utah it snows one day and is sunny and all the snow melts the next...).  He didn't mind the cold as long as we didn't try to put him down in that weird white stuff...

Yes, those are sandwich bags on his feet...we live in TX, he doesn't have snow shoes!
