Jam Time

Strawberries and blackberries were on sale this week so we decided it was time to make some jam...unfortunately we forgot about this plan until about 6pm on Saturday night, but we decided to do it anyway so off to Walmart we went.  We got home with A LOT of fruit and sugar (turns out, way more than we needed, but don't worry -- it did not go to waste...well the sugar will get used eventually).  We got home and went to work (with Soren happily sleeping in his crib).  We were prepared for the jam making to take up our entire evening, but thanks to our AWESOME Vitamix we made 14 jars of jam, plus some extra pureed strawberries for future use, in under an hour, start to finish with clean up!  We were thrilled with how easy it was.  So we spent the rest of our evening watching Harry Potter and eating vanilla ice cream with bananas and strawberries on top.  YUM!

 

 

  

Children's Museum

On Monday morning Soren and I went to the Perot Museum of Nature and Science with our PTA friends.  Most of it was beyond Soren's age level, but I figured it would be before we went but decided to go anyway since the PTA was paying.  :)  I'm glad we went, it was a lot of fun and he will enjoy it even more in a couple of years.  

He stayed at the water table most of the time, the kid LOVES water!  He was very wet afterward, but he couldn't have been more pleased with himself!

Official

Soren is now an official Texan thanks to Aunt CC and Uncle Tyler!  And I must say, he is a very cute Texan!

Master Bedroom

I know I never put "tour" pics of our house up, so I guess it will just happen as the rooms get painted. After painting two rooms this weekend, we are now fully aware of how old the previous paint job is and we will be painting the rest of the house as soon as we have funds and help to do it!  :)

Burrito, anyone?

The other day I made burritos for dinner, I made Soren a sandwich because I didn't think he would care for the burrito. He usually eats what I make for dinner, but I didn't think he could do the burrito. However, he was quick to let us know differently. He was insistent that he eat a burrito like a big boy. So I made him half a burrito, and assumed he would just pick all the filling out and eat it all separately, but he surprised Richard and I by eating the whole thing rolled up.

Backpack

My brother, Jordan, bought Soren this backpack a few months ago.  We use it as his diaper bag since all he really needs now days is diapers, wipes and snacks.  Soren LOVES to carry his backpack around.  We went to the park on Friday and he walked around the park like this for a good twenty minutes.  Everybody thought it was pretty funny.
