Splash Pad

Today we went to check out the local splash pad, it was great. Soren enjoyed it a lot considering he can't really do anything but sit and play with the fountain.  We had a lot of fun enjoying the sun and we are excited for next summer when Soren can really enjoy the splash pad!!!

Wonderful Weekend

I have been feeling the need to get out of town so this weekend we went down to Austin to visit Richard's sister and brother-in-law.  They have a pool...what else do you need??  We spent the weekend playing in the pool and relaxing.  It was perfect, I now feel rejuvenated for another few weeks.  :)

 Soren was OBSESSED with this waterfall, it was really funny!

Sitting Up

Had to take a few pictures of my cute boy, he has finally decided that sitting up is worth his time.  :)

Mother's Day

I had a great first Mother's Day.  Richard made me my favorite breakfast, french toast.  Then after church he made me one of my favorite meals, salisbury steak and mashed potatoes. 

Then Soren gave me this candy card (candy cards are a hot item in my family).

And of course I had to get a picture with my cute boy, if I was smart I would have taken a picture while we were still in our cute church clothes, but I didn't, so you get a picture of my half naked boy...yes I realize he has a lot of pictures in just his diaper...it's hot here.

Grocery Shopping

Today, for the first time, Soren got to sit in the grocery cart like a big boy instead of being stuck in his car seat the whole time.  He thanked me by holding the milk for me.

He's on the Move

He has finally done it, on Friday Soren started crawling (if you can call flopping forward crawling).  He has spent the last week rocking back and forth on his hands and knees, now nothing is out of his reach...BEWARE.

In Other Exciting News...

In case you missed the last item in the previous post...

WE BOUGHT A HOUSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is not a 100% done deal, but it pretty much is.  We are through the offer and inspection process now  we are just finishing up our loan stuff and getting the appraisal.  We are SO SO SO SO SO EXCITED to be done with apartment life!

7 Months

I know I say this every month, but seriously...WHERE IS THE TIME GOING!?!?!?

Taking pictures is becoming much more of an adventure, as Soren has turned into a crazy monkey child that will not hold still...which is one of the many reasons that we love him!  

At 7 months:
-Wearing 3-6 month clothes.

-For about 2 1/2 weeks he was an awesome sleeper, going to bed at 7 and waking up about 5am to eat and going back to sleep for a couple of hours...that wonderful stretch has unfortunately ended.  Hopefully it will come back soon...
-Moves a ton in his sleep, every time I check on him he is in a different position.  And I never know where to reach for him in when I get up to get him in the middle of the night.  It is dark, I have to just follow the sound of the cries.

-Has a SERIOUS foot fettish.  He is constantly eating his own feet, crawling to any feet he can see, and trying to eat every foot in sight.

-He rolls all over the place.

-He is trying desperately to crawl, he is constantly up on his knees rocking back and forth.  It is only a matter of time.

-Still doesn't sit up on his own, he has the ability to and will for a short bit every once in a while, but most of the time he just doesn't care to.  How is he suppose to move if he is sitting up?!!?

-Loves pretty much anything we put in his mouth (except avocado, tried that yesterday for Cinco de Mayo...not a fan).

-Eats rice cereal, beans, peas, squash, bananas, peaches, pears, sweet potatoes, carrots and of course lots of milk.

-Laughs and smiles all the time, he is very easily entertained.

-Loves to play in his exersaucer.

-Loves to be outside.

-Enjoys relaxing in his tube in the pool.

-Would be happy to never put clothes on.

-Really figuring out how to use his voice to express his emotions.

-Napping wonderfully.  30-60 minute nap in the morning, 1.75 hour nap in the early afternoon, and sometimes a short late afternoon nap depending on how the naps have fallen.

-Last but not least, he is very excited to move into his HOUSE on June 10th!  

Love this Laugh!!!

Soren is getting better at not being quite so mesmerized by the camera, he will even laugh and smile despite the camera being in view.  Here are a couple of short videos of him laughing, just ignore my creepy fake laugh...he thinks it is funny and that is all that matters.  :)

Calzones

Friday night, we had a little date night in making calzones for dinner.  It was a lot of fun, we use to cook big fun meals together quite a bit, but obviously life has changed a bit at this house.  It was really fun to have a night to do that again.

I forgot to take a picture of the finished product, but they were HUGE and DELICIOUS!

A Few Funny Things...

Here are a few random pictures from Tuesday...

First, I babysat my nieces for a little bit in the afternoon, and apparently Charlotte was so tired that she just zonked out on the floor...for like an hour...

This picture is just so sweet!

This picture might be a little unappetizing...but, I thought it was funny.  I was burping Soren after he ate and as soon as I finished burping him I laid him back and that was the moment that he spit up and it got all over his face...he didn't care, so we had to snap a picture.
