Diane

One of my very best friends from home came to visit for a few days at the end of February.  It was so much fun to have her here (we don't have very many pictures because we were to busy having fun!).  We spent a lot of time outside.  We enjoyed going to Klyde Warren Park and eating lunch at the food trucks.  On Saturday we went to the zoo.  We just ate lots of yummy food and played.  Soren loved having her here!

After the birds of flight show if you donated a dollar the bird would take it and put it in the box for you.

Walking, Walking, Always Walking

Soren is an EXTREMELY active little boy (I know what you are thinking, all little boys are active, but trust me, he is even more so than normal).  We leave the house several times a day, so happy that the weather is beautiful more often than not and we can go on walks.  He loves to push things, especially his lawn mower because it blows bubbles.

Silly Boys

Richard and I are not big into Valentine's Day, we just do cards or something small and handmade for each other.  So when our friend's had their babysitter cancel because she was sick we were happy to watch their boy while they went to dinner.

These boys are so stinkin cute together, it kills me.  They are such good friends and I love seeing them play together.  We had a great evening hanging out with Weston!

Houston Aquarium

Jordan, Soren and I headed down to Houston for the day.  We left at about 8:45am and got to the Toyota Center at about 12:30  to meet our cousin (really my mom's cousin), Cris.  We picked him up and headed to Hard Rock Cafe for lunch, it was yummy.

Cris was able to get us some tickets to the Houston Aquarium.  He headed back to work while me, Jordan and Soren headed to the aquarium.  Soren LOVED it!  He was in heaven seeing all the fish, they were HUGE!

They even had a tiger which he thought was pretty neat.  The tiger was just hanging out behind the glass minding his own business when Soren decided to get right up to the glass and say "RAWR!", needless to say, the tiger did not like that.  So we left that room after irritating the tiger.  Oops.

Outside they had some rides, they had a carousel (which Soren really liked) and a train (choo-choo), which Soren loved.  Have a mentioned that he is OBSESSED with trains?  Well, he is, like ridiculously obsessed.  We rode the train three times.  He would have never gotten off if I didn't make him.  The train was really cool it took you into this tunnel shark tank so the sharks were swimming all around us, it was really neat.  I thought it might make Soren nervous, but he thought it was great.  All he cared about was that he was on a choo-choo.  :)

Rockets Game

We love going down to Houston for Rocket's games, since my cousin works for the Rockets we always get great seats and get to do lots of fun stuff.  We found Clutch (the Rocket's mascot) while we were walking around outside.  Soren is at the age where he is absolutely terrified of mascots, I was trying to get him to take a picture with Clutch, but was freaking out.  After a lot of coaxing from me and others and Clutch showing him how sad he was that he wouldn't take a picture Soren finally let me get close enough to Clutch so we could get a picture taken.  But, as you can see he was definitely not thrilled about the whole thing.

Before the game we got to go down on the floor while the teams were warming up and Jordan got some pictures with Dwight Howard and James Harden (his favorite player) in the background.  Then during halftime Jordan went down and got to be on the court to welcome the team back to the court with high fives.

The game went down to the wire and the Rockets pulled out a victory at the last second.  It was so fun to be there and be part of an awesome game.  Dwight Howard threw his jersey up to a kid about 10 rows in front of us after the game, it was really cool, the kid was so excited!

After the game there was a Q&A with Chandler Parsons and we got to sit on the floor for that.  There were about 1500 people in attendance.  Soren does great during the basketball games because there is a lot going on and he loves to watch the action.  But come time for the Q&A it was late and he was getting pretty restless.  So we were doing our best to keep him in check, but at one point he started to wonder off toward where Parsons' was sitting and I was trying to catch up to him without making a scene when the emcee says "oh, we have a crazy little Rockets fan here."  Parsons looked over at Soren and said "come here, buddy."  So Soren made his way over to Parsons and sat on his lap for a little bit.  Parsons was so nice and was talking to him, it was really cute.  I was so impressed with how nice Parsons was.  It was really cool.

Snow Day

We had our second snow storm of the season (really it could be called the first because the one in December was more like an ice storm).  It was COLD!  I may have grown up in Utah, but I have quickly acclimated to the warm weather, I am a cold weather wimp, I don't know how I survived in Utah!

Soren wanted to go outside, but I had no interest in getting all bundled up and going outside.  Luckily for Soren, Uncle JoJo was home from work and took him outside.  Soren is definitely a Texas boy, he was dying to go outside, but he only lasted a few minutes before he decided it wasn't worth it and came back inside.

This boy loves to be outside, we are ready for park weather!!

Dallas Art Museum

The Dallas Art Museum has lots of fun free activities for kids on the first Tuesday of each month.  We have heard about this from some friends, but never went.  This month we finally went and it was really fun!  They had a cute little craft for the kids to do and they had a little play area that Soren loved.  Then we went to story time.  It was neat to see them teach the kids about art in a fun way for the kids.

After we did those things we just walked around and explored for a bit.  Soren loves to color so he was thrilled when he found this little drawing station.
