Friends

We went to dinner with our friends at Twisted Root Burger Company where I experienced the most delicious burger I have ever tasted!

After dinner, they came back to our house to hang out for a bit before their two hour drive home.  Here are a few pictures of the babies playing together.  As you can see from the first two pictures, Soren has a bit of a foot fettish...

Messy Boy

Soren has decided that blowing raspberries while eating is highly entertaining.  Yesterday, Richard was feeding Soren some sweet potatoes and this is what I found.



I'm wondering if he actually got any in his tummy... 

Fun in the Sun

We had a wonderful day enjoying the sun today, we started out by going to our local play group at the park.  I think Soren could have stayed in the swing all day long.

When Richard got home from work we decided to go check out the pool.  It was still in the mid to high eighties.  The water was a little cold for my taste, but Richard got right in with Soren.  Soren fussed for just a few seconds, but then he just kicked back and floated around in his tube.

Camera Face

This video is the reason that the majority of the pictures of Soren are all a blank stare, the look that we call his "camera face." He is all smiles and giggles, until he sees the camera...

Happy Birthday, Grandma!

Take Me Out

Last night, Richard came home with an AMAZING surprise. Somebody at his work had tickets to the Mariners vs Rangers game and a parking pass that they weren't going to use so they gave them to Richard. It was an afternoon game, so Richard worked a few hours in the morning and then we were off to the ballpark!

We had a great time introducing Soren to America's favorite past time. The Rangers won 5-3, wahoo (I know last year at this time we would have been rooting for the Mariners, but hey, you gotta go for the home team).

Soren did awesome! He slept on the way to the stadium, was awake and happy for about 4 innings, slept til the 8th innning, woke up happy, slept on the way home.

Laundry

Nature Preserve

Richard's grandma was in town visiting this weekend so we all took advantage of a gorgeous day and had a picnic at a local nature preserve.

Easter

(Soren looks really happy in this picture, I know...it's been a long weekend with essentially no naps. But all things considered he has been really good!)

Nursery

After 6 months Soren's nursery is finally complete, it is nothing fancy, but I am happy with it. :)

Rice Cereal

Today Soren started rice cereal (his first experience with anything other than milk), and he LOVED it. At first he wasn't so sure about it, so I just put a little bit on his lips for him to lick...and he was sold! After that he kept grabbing my hand trying to shove the spoon in his mouth as fast as he could...I guess he was ready for some food!!!

6 MONTHS

CANNOT believe Soren has been in our home for half of a year, where has the time gone???

-15 lbs 14 oz (25th percentile)

-25 5/8 inches (25th percentile)

-Exclusively breastfed (until the day after his 6 month birthday)

-Rolls from back to tummy

-Because of the last accomplishment he no longer sleeps swaddled (that was an ADJUSTMENT!)

-Has become a side and tummy sleeper

-Often only wakes up once to eat, but not guaranteed yet

-Tries to eat everything

-Hates the process of being strapped into things (stroller, carseat, etc), but is fine once he is in

-Gives Richard a BIG smile when he gets home from work

-Loves to play peek-a-boo

-Is in a very needy stage (mom doesn't get much done during the day)

-Went to California to meet his great grandparents on mom's side

-Likes to play with the toys on his carseat and swing

-Getting close to sitting up

-LOVES to play with/eat his feet

Sleeping

A couple of weeks ago Soren started rolling over and therefore lost his swaddle for sleeping.  It was a rough transition, but I must say, he was cute swaddled, but this is just adorable!  Can't get enough of him!
