Thanksgiving
We did a lot of traveling this fall so come Thanksgiving time I was just really read to be home and not go anywhere so we hosted Thanksgiving at our house this year. Richard's sister Amanda flew in and his parents drove up. We also had Richard's brother and family over and my cousin and his family. I had a lot of fun decorating and helping prepare the food. It was a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Firetruck...Fun...
Mom fail: we were headed out to run a few errands before going to play at an indoor play place. I was low on gas, but I was in a more expensive area so I only wanted to get a few gallons, I pulled into the nearest gas station and put a few gallons of gas in the car. When I was done I went to get back in the car to discover that it was locked...and inside were my keys and my phone and my kids. Awesome. Luckily, it wasn't hot outside so I knew the kids were safe and I was able to avoid completely freaking out. After a few minutes of trying to help Soren figure out how to unbuckle himself with no success I borrowed a phone from somebody and called the fire department. They spent the first little while trying to unlock the door with a contraption, but that didn't work. After probably 20 or 30 minutes (it wasn't hot and the boys weren't panicking) they were able to fish my keys out of the middle console and we were able to unlock the door.
Soren thought the whole thing was great, he enjoyed watching the firefighters and taking pictures with them afterward. I am so grateful for firefighthers and all they do for our community. They are always so kind and nice to the kids.

Kansas City
Some good friends of ours from BYU live in Kansas City which is just about an 8 hour drive for us. BYU was playing Missouri in Kansas City so we decided what better excuse to head up and enjoy the weekend with our friends. (We were so busy having fun that we didn't get any pictures together -- FAIL!) They have 3 boys, all right around the same ages as Soren and Beckett so it was a ton of fun, Soren loved playing with them and was so sad to leave his Kansas City friends.
We went to Liberty Jail, enjoyed Kansas City BBQ, went to the BYU tailgate event and had a great (FREEZING) time at the BYU game. Unfortunately, they lost, but it was a lot of fun to be there with our friends.

Park Day
Our new house has a park right across the street and it awesome! Soren loves to play baseball so we often head over there to play baseball and play at the park. Enjoying the Texas sunshine is one of our favorite things to do, the boys love being outside!
