Pumpkin Patch

We got to go to the pumpkin patch with our PTA group and it was a lot of fun.

First we took a hayride where Soren got to pick a pumpkin to take home.

Then Soren had fun wondering around and playing on all the fun things they had.

They even had a cute little corn maze with a slide at the exit.  I went in with him the first time to show him how it worked.  But boy am I glad he decided he could do it on his own after that because it was definitely not designed for adults!

He also got to eat a cupcake (which he doesn't really like so he didn't really eat his) and decorate his pumpkin with stickers, but that picture is on my phone so it will have to wait for another day.

Baby Tate

Last weekend Richard and his dad participated in a 67 mile bike ride in Waco.  So Friday we headed down at about 3:30.  We got to Waco at about 5:30 and enjoyed dinner at On the Border.  After dinner, Soren and said goodbye and headed down to Austin.  My sister-in-law had a baby a few weeks ago and I have been anxious to go meet the little guy!  Soren loves babies so much and he LOVES his new cousin, Tate!  We spent the weekend just relaxing and enjoying baby Tate.  We also celebrated my mother-in-law's birthday while we were there.

He shows affection by rubbing the top of your head.  No joke, he randomly does this to his friends, babies and anybody that will let him.

And he loved showing us where Tate's eye is

After we let Soren hold Tate for these pictures he kept trying to take him out of my arms and hold him again.  He felt like such a big boy holding Tate all by himself.

Klyde Warren Park

A few weeks ago we invited some friends to meet us downtown at Klyde Warren Park.  It was a lot of fun.  The kids didn't play much on the actual playground (it was a bit advanced for our toddlers), but they were in heaven with all the open grass to run around.

We had a great time getting dinner from the food trucks and hanging out with our friends.  We really have amazing friends here, it is so wonderful!

(As you can see from the pictures, Soren was thrilled with life)

He wore himself out!

Silly boy was trying to climb in the cubby of the entertainment center.

Football Party

Saturday we had some friends over to watch BYU run all over Texas (literally).  :)  Our friends showed up at 6, but once again the game had a TWO hour lightning delay.  Oh well, we had good company and delicious food!  And all the little boys had fun playing together!  We love having such good friends that have boys close to Soren's age!

Yikes

Soren has some nasty seasonal allergies that come with yucky side effects.  Usually he ends up with an ear infection and we just treat it with essential oils at home.  This time, that was NOT working.  After leaving story time and having him scream in the car for a solid ten minutes we turned around and went to the doctor (after calling of course, luckily they had an appointment in 20 minutes and I took it!).  I walked in expecting to get an antibiotic for his ear infection and walked out with all of this!

Turns out his cough was also a wheeze (he had not been napping well because his cough was so bad that it was keeping him awake, but I had no idea he was wheezing!).

He was tortured by the breathing treatment and I was tortured by the prednisone.  That stuff makes for a cranky, moody child.  Luckily, it's only a five day med and we are back to enjoying our sweet, happy, silly boy.

Despite the miserable side effects of the prednisone I am grateful for modern medicine.

Package

Soren got a BYU package from Grandpa Brett and he loves it.  His jersey is adorable, thanks dad!
