PARTY!!!!

So yesterday morning I was just hanging around the house when at about 10:00 Richard called and told me that the smoke alarm and power had gone off in the Clyde Building (the engineering building at BYU where he spends his whole life) and so they were outside not thinking much of it, because as it is an engineering building let's just say they end up outside quite a bit. But they were told that there was a real emergency and that they wouldn't be let back in for at least an hour. So all BYU students get a free game of bowling every year so Richard and a few of his engineering friends went bowling and soon found out that the Clyde building would be closed all day so Richard called me and we felt that it was reason to celebrate...

We started off by going to Chili's for lunch to enjoy their wonderful 2 for $20 deal
Then we went to the Wilkinson Center and went bowling because you can go bowling for one hour for $8 a person. It wasn't very busy so we each got our own lane. We bowled 8 1/2 games! Needless to say we both woke up VERY sore today! You'd be surprised what a work out bowling can be when you go for an hour!

After bowling we were both exhausted, sweaty, and very thirsty so we went to Sonic and got happy hour drinks.
After we felt we had spent enough money for the day we went home, played games and watched movies.
It was FANTASTIC! We hardly ever get days like this, most weekdays we don't see each other til about 6:00 pm and we go to bed at 10. And Saturday's are just full of chores and errands so this day was a very welcome change.
The bad news is that the Clyde is also closed today and they don't know how long it will be closed, the part they need to fix the problem is in Ohio so we'll see what happens. This wouldn't be so bad, except that Richard is going to San Francisco for an Earthquake Engineering competition next week and he has a lot of work he needs to do for it, but all the work is on his school computer, so until he can get in there he can't do anything. He is a little stressed about that. So once the Clyde is usable again I don't think I will be seeing him much at all next week. Good thing we had such a great day yesterday, because he will have a lot of work to make up.

Change

While I was at the gym the other day this song came on my Zune. It is perfect for my life.
Someday I will change the world.

WOOHOO!

Today Richard received a very exciting phone call! He received a call informing him that

has invited him on an all expense paid recruting trip! Yeah! So they will pay for his plane ticket, hotels, and food. There will be a full day where he can get the answers to all of his questions, meet the professors, and tour the campus while ASU does all that they can to convince him that ASU is the place for him! HURRAY! We are very excited!

Haircut

I am really sad that I forgot to take pictures, but on Saturday I gave Richard a haircut for the first time. It was very exciting. It turned out well if I do say so myself and he now trusts me to cut his hair so we can start saving money. Hurray!

Winter Hiking

Apparently in New Hampshire people like to hike...in the dead of winter... :)

A Few Randoms

Celebrating Richard's dad's birthday on New Years Eve. That cake was delicious!

Playing games and eating...pretty much all we did the whole time. :)

Recreational Pride of New England

One afternoon while we were in New Hampshire Jessica Joy and I were introduced to this wonderful recreational activity of New England. It is called candlepin bowling and it is SO fun! The pins do not get cleared between your bowls and so you can use the pins you have already knocked down to hit other pins. Also, you get three bowls per frame instead of just two. Very fun.
