Going Home

Typical hospital stay after a C-Section is 3 nights, but we talked to my doctor about going home on Wednesday instead of Thursday and she gave us the go ahead.  The pediatrician said Beckett was also good to go so we were ready.  We were so happy that we got to go home the day earlier, there was really no benefit to staying in the hospital since both Richard and my mom would be home to help me.  Soren was very ready for us to come home.  Every time he came to the hospital he would ask if Beckett was coming home, He was thrilled when he was finally able to go home.

The day went well for the most part, Soren has moments where it is hard for him, I think the hardest thing for him is that he can't climb all over me.  For the most part he is great and loves to hold his baby.  He asks to hold him several times a day.

We are so happy to be home with our sweet little family.

Day 2 in the Hospital

Day 2 in the hospital was the day for me to start getting up and moving.  I was hooked up to my epidural and all sorts of other things the day that Beckett was born and I finally got disconnected from everything on Tuesday morning and it felt so good to be able to move!

Mom brought Soren to the hospital, they stayed for a bit and then Richard took Soren home.  Mom spent the day in the hospital with Beckett and I.  Then Richard came back to get mom, they headed out to get some dinner.  Richard was going to go home to get a good night sleep (he stayed in the hospital with me the previous night), but I had a melt down about not being able to take care of the baby on my own.  So he came back after dinner and stayed with me again.  Good hubby!

Baby Day!

We had a C-Section scheduled for 9am so we had to be at the hospital at 7am to get ready.  At 9:34am our sweet Beckett Thomas Christensen joined our family.  He came out screaming with a full head of dark hair.  My mom brought Soren to the hospital at about 1pm and he was immediately in love with his baby brother.  Soren brought me flowers which was the cutest thing ever.  Beckett was getting his bath in the nursery when they got there and Soren immediately asked, "Where's Baby Beckett?"  He was so excited when Baby Beckett joined us and he got to hold him.  He is the sweetest big brother and loves Beckett so much.

The experience of bringing Beckett into this world was much smoother and less exhausting than our experience with Soren.  I am so grateful for a good doctor who I was able to trust and feel comfortable with.

Christmas

Christmas morning with a 3 year old may be one of the best things ever.  Soren was loving Christmas morning and it was so fun to watch him enjoy the day.  We had a great morning opening and playing with presents.  We enjoyed a delicious breakfast casserole. Then we enjoyed the rest of the day playing with our new gifts and enjoying our time together.

We were able to video chat with my brother, Jordan, in Argentina.  It was so great to see him and talk to him.

For dinner, we headed over to a friend's house and enjoyed a delicious Cafe Rio style dinner with great friends.

Christmas Eve

Richard worked in the morning on Christmas Eve, but was home by about 1:00.  We went to Subway for lunch and then went home for a bit.

We went to the 4:00 Christmas Eve service at one of the local mega churches.  We enjoyed feeling the spirit of Christmas and focusing on Christ during that time.  Soren loved all the music.

After the service we went home and opened up our traditional Christmas Eve pajamas, at dinner and watched "Polar Express".

Christmas Party

The Early Childhood PTA organization that Soren and I are a part of had their annual Christmas party at a local gymnastics facility.  We had a great time and Soren loved all the running and jumping.
