5 Months
At 5 Months, Beckett:
-Continues to get double ear infections -- if he gets too many more he is going to have to get tubes -- he has only lasted about 3-4 days off the antibiotics before the infections come back
-Sleeps well when he is on antibiotics, not so much on the days in between
-Wears 6 month clothing
-Wears size 3 diapers
-Can roll from back to tummy, plays on his tummy for a while, but then he gets mad that he can't roll back
-Talks and smiles all the time
-He is quick to smile, but getting a giggle takes some real effort
-Great napper, still takes 1 long and 2 short naps
-Likes to sit up in the Bumbo
-Loves to be outside

Fishing
Ever since we went to the fishing day Soren has been asking "Can I go fishing with Rachelle?" So finally, one evening after his blast ball game we headed over to the pond near her house where she usually fishes and he got to try real fishing. He got close to catching something a few times, but never quite got it. But he still had lots of fun!
Austin Aquarium
Wednesday morning we headed to the Austin Aquarium before heading home. Soren loved seeing all of the fish and the birds. It was a nice little outing before we headed out for another long drive.
We had a fantastic vacation with Richard's family and the boys were so good on all of the long drives!

Schiltterbahn
We spent two of our vacation days at Schllitterbahn (waterpark) and it was AMAZING! (Again, the babies were awesome, they just played around our cabana and slept when they got tired -- they are the best babies ever!) We all loved ever second, we don't have a lot of pictures because we were too busy having fun!
They had a big lazy river that connected to all of the water slides so you would float along the river and then just paddle over to the slide entrance whenever you got to one you wanted to go on. The river even had a rapids section, it was a lot of fun. Soren did everything he could -- he loved the rapids and all of the big water slides that he tried. This boy has no fear.
Beckett was a champ just hanging out and sleeping whenever he needed to.
It was great being there with all of the family because it was easy to take turns staying with the babies.
We stayed at Shlitterbahn until about 5 on Friday and then we headed back to Austin with Richard's parents. We did not make good time -- we had a lot of stops and they were not very well coordinated. Funny story -- Soren fell asleep in the car within 20 minutes of getting in -- he was playing really hard all day. So we stopped to get dinner at Wendy's around 8, we ordered food for Soren for when he would wake up. At about 8:45 Richard and I decided that he was not going to be waking up before we got to Richard's parents house. So we decided to split the burger that we had for him. Not even five minutes later we hear, "Daddy, can I have my hamburger?" We just looked at each other and laughed. PARENT FAIL! So we made another stop to pick him up a new burger. Lesson learned. :)

South Padre Island
I need to begin this post by saying that Soren is so blessed. He has the most fantastic cousins, I love watching him play with his cousins, they have so much fun together!
Monday we enjoyed the morning and early afternoon at the beach on South Padre Island. Soren and Richard spent some more time jumping waves together. I again had no desire to get in the water. Especially after Char got stung by a jellyfish...
We enjoyed playing on the beach and eating our SANDwiches. After we ate lunch we headed to out because there were sooo many jellyfish washing up on the shore. Gross.
The babies were such good sports through all of our activities, they just snoozed on the beach under the canopy.
After the beach we headed to Dairy Queen for a treat. YUM!

Corpus Christi
For Memorial Day weekend we headed out on vacation with Richard's parents and his brother and his family. Friday afternoon we drove down to Austin and spent the day there and then we all headed to South Padre Island Saturday morning. Richard's parents drove in our car with us and it was so helpful to have them back there with the boys! On the way to South Padre Island we took a short detour to the beach at Corpus Christi. I decided not to get in the water because I didn't want to be all salty and sandy the rest of the drive (and quite frankly I do not enjoy swimming in water where I can't see what I am swimming with). Soren was in HEAVEN jumping the waves with Richard, he had a big smile on his face the entire time, it was so cute to watch them. The first thing Richard said when he got out of the water was, "that is the most fun I have ever had." I love that they love each other so much. Richard really cherishes these moments with the boys since he is usually at work when we do the "fun stuff". Beckett touched the ocean for the first time and the experience was less traumatic than Soren's first time (he was just a bit older than Beckett was) because the water was much warmer.
