Christmas Fun

Friday night the boys got to see Santa at our church Christmas party, Beckett wasn't afraid, but he definitely wasn't taking his eyes off of the strange man.  Soren told Santa that he wants "Chase and Rubble because then he will have all the pups."

On Saturday morning we headed to a local mall to see their train display that they have during Christmas.  I hear about it every year, but we have never been.  We went and made a day of it, the boys loved the trains, as we knew they would.  And then we ate lunch at the mall which is always a hit, everybody can get just what they want.  It was a really nice morning out with the family.

All By Myself

All by myself!  But not really...me and three little boys from morning til daddy gets home!  And we even all survived.  Our days for those first few weeks really went smoothly.  We had our moments of tears, but the big boys love Wells so much and are so helpful and always want to hold him and help.  Soren went back to his routine of preschool and speech while the rest of us took it easy at home while I continued to recover and figure out how to balance it all.  We had lots of delicious dinners brought to us which was a lifesaver, so nice and helpful not to have to worry about that at the end of the day.

These three boys melt my heart!

The First Weeks

We were so lucky to have my mom here for a full two weeks after the baby was born.  It is so nice for Richard to be able to go to work (we don't like to use what little days off he has if we don't have to) and for me to still be taken care of and not have to jump back into mommy mode with a new baby while recovering from surgery!  :)  My mom is the best nurse ever.

My recovery has gone so well this time, I finally know the tricks to a nice smooth recovery.  I was on heavy pain meds and down to tylenol within the first week which was so nice!  I felt like I could do a lot more and was ready to be up and around way sooner than with the other two.

My mom and I enjoyed a nice quiet and delicious gluten free Thanksgiving while Richard took the big boys to his brother's house.

We did a lot of eating yummy food, cuddling the baby, napping (for me), and mom was the best grandma as always taking care of all the boys and our house for two weeks.  We would not survive those first few weeks without her!  It is never fun when she leaves, but luckily this time we would be following her for Christmas in just a few short weeks.  I can do this, I only have to make it 2.5 weeks!
