Day Out with Thomas

The Grapevine Historic Railroad does a "Day Out with Thomas" event every year.  We decided that this would be a great year to go, Soren loves trains and especially Thomas the Train!

We didn't tell Soren anything about it until we were on our way and I told him that we were on our way to his surprise.  The whole drive he kept saying "are we at my surprise yet?"  Needless to say he was excited.  The shuttled us from the parking lot to the train station and Soren thought the shuttle was his surprise and was thrilled to be on the bus.  (Wish we had known, we could have saved a lot of money!)  He is easy to please.  :)

When he saw Thomas out the window he was so excited, it was worth every penny.

After the train ride we went to Red Robin for dinner with our friends.

3 Months

At three months, Beckett:

-LOVES to suck his fist

-Has found his voice and loves to chat

-Sleeps well at night, usually waking up just once to eat

-Loves to play with and smile at his brother

-Is a happy easy-going baby

-Loves to hang out in the swing or propped up on the couch

-Starting to nap better during the day

-Wears 3-6/6 month clothing

-Eats every 3 hours

Beckett's Blessing Day

Richard gave Beckett a beautiful blessing this morning.  We are so blessed to have this sweet boy in our family.  We love the sweet spirit that he brings into our home.  We were able to share this special day with our family and friends.

Happy Birthday

Happy Birthday, to me!  I had a great birthday.  We started the morning by going to an indoor play place for Soren to get some energy out after all of our cold rainy (and snowy) days.  Then my dad took me to Schlotsky's for lunch.  Yum.

After Richard got home from work we headed to a nearby indoor pool to go swimming.  On the way home we stopped by a bakery and picked up some yummy desserts.

It was a great and relaxing day with my favorite people.

One year older!

Snow Day

Winter has (unfortunately) arrived in Dallas, it only took until the first week of March.  We had an ice storm last week as well as a little bit of snow.  And then today we got several inches of snow.  The great thing about snow in Dallas, it means all the schools close and daddy gets to stay home from work because Texans don't drive in the snow.

As soon as Soren saw the snow he started singing "Do You Want to Build a Snowman?"  So of course we had to let him enjoy the snow, Richard was a great daddy (as always) and took him out to play.  Soren loved it and lasted much longer than we expected.

Trampoline Park

There is a great trampoline park nearby that has toddler jump hours (yay no big kids!) twice a week for only $5.  We went a few weeks ago with our PTA group and decided to go again with some friends.  The kids were all in heaven running around and jumping -- every kids dream!

2 Months

At 2 months Beckett:

-Weighs 13 lbs 7 oz (90th percentile)

-Measures 23 1/8 inches (50th percentile)

-Wearing 0-3 month clothes

-Started smiling, is happiest in the evenings

-Is starting to play on the floor for longer stretches, looking around and figuring things out

-Gets one arm out of his swaddle on a regular basis

-Loves being held and cuddled

-HATES the carseat, only happy in the car while we are moving

-Is very tolerant of his overly loving big brother

-Eats every 3-3 1/2 hours during the day

-Sleeps well at night, typically wakes up between 1-2 and 4-5 then sleeps until about 7:30.

-He has done several nights with 6 hour stretches and even did an 8 hour stretch last week!

We love our sweet Beckett boy, we could not be more blessed to have him in our family.
