Quick Catch Up

So before I get into details of Seattle I am going to post a few catch up pictures from Provo. :) And I am going to commit to being a better blogger now that I am away from friends and family and actually need to keep people updated, so here it goes...

The week before we left for Seattle we went hiking up Provo Canyon with Carolyn and Tyler, it was a lot of fun, and yes, that is snow behind us. It snowed while we were hiking.

I know my birthday was over 2 months ago, but here is a picture of me getting ready to open my presents.

During conference weekend we made our first attempt at cinnamon rolls, and they were DELISH!!

Two of My Favorite People

Last night I got to hang out with two of my favorite people in the whole world! Diane was supposed to leave for her mission on January 6th, but it got moved up to November 18th so she is leaving next week!

We got together for one last time before she leaves on her mission! It was so fun! We went to Zupa's for dinner and then we got kicked out of there around 930 so we went and sat in the car and talked until like 11.

It was a lot of fun to catch up. Even though we live close we don't get to see each other very often because unfortunately LIFE IS BUSY! Who knows where we will all be when Diane gets back Spring/Summer 2011...things change so quickly!

Love you girls! Diane, you will be GREAT! :)

Final Verdict

The decision has been made...

University of Washington here we come!

Now to find a place to live, jobs, ward, etc.

A Wonderful Professor and Friend

Today I went to a beautiful funeral of a professor who taught me so much. Professor Gary Bryner has touched countless lives, including my own. He was involved in my wonderful Guatemala experience last summer. Unfortunately, because of his illness he was not able to travel to Guatemala with us, but he did help us prepare for the experience and he taught me many wonderful things about international development in the weeks leading up to traveling to Guatemala. He was caring and unselfish and was anxious to hear all about our experience when we returned from Guatemala.

I am extremely grateful for the plan of salvation and the way that LDS funerals focus on celebrating the life of the person rather than mourning their death. Funerals and death are still sad and tears are still shed, but to be able to see the good and appreciate all that they did in life is truly wonderful.

So we weren't planning on having Richard go visit Virginia Tech because they weren't going to pay for it. But he received an email today telling him that they will give him up to $600 for travel expenses so it looks like he will be visiting afterall. :D
